So I 100% thought this kid was coming last night. I decided to be a good wife and take one for the team, both in combination to keep Jay happy, and because I figured when I really need him to help me get this kid out in a few weeks, he won't feel quite so used, LOL (tell him that and I will personally kill you). We literally only had sex once my entire pregnancy with Finn. And it was at like 19 weeks. So this 36 weeks business is a whole new ball game. So things went lovely (but weird, LOL, not gonna lie!). Jay goes to bed, and I go plant my butt on the computer to get some work done. Started having the occasional contraction, not abnormal for a long day, totally passed it off. They started feeling a bit more legit and a bit less like Braxton Hicks. Still passing it off. It wasn't until I realized they were coming every 5-7 minutes that I decided to get my tail off the computer. I did my Bradley tricks, eat, water, lay down to see if they'd slow down. Nothing. 2 full hours of intensifying contractons every 5 minutes. They were still short, only 30 seconds or so. Seriously - I FREAKED out. Our co-sleeper won't be here till next week. I've barely set up the room/done baby laundry. I haven't re-read my birthing book - I am NOT mentally prepared for this yet!! LOL!! At this point I felt like I was gonna puke, took some Zofrain, and then got another glass of water and some regular strength tylenol, and knew that if that didn't make the contractions stop it was likely go time. So I took that, and continued laying on the couch. The contractions spaced out a bit more, but didn't stop until almost 5 am (7 hours after they had started). So lesson learned. Sex is the way to get the baby out. I will say though, that despite my pain and waddling, I'm not ready yet. I don't want to go through labor yet! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! K. Trying to keep my freak out minimal. But seriously. I had forgotten that pain - and whatever happened last night was only early labor! Not even the real deal! I can't wait until I can have a beer again, LOL!
